First elected in 2016, Ashley is the first woman to represent the 67^th District in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Ashley has worked successfully to balance the budget, cut taxes, fund school infrastructure, and help secure increased aid for K-12 education and additional funding for rural hospitals and mental health facilities.

Prior to her election she was an award-winning journalist and reporter for KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids.
